GROUND WATER BRANCH MEMORANDUM NO. 58.53

Subject:  PUBLICATIONS - Notes on open-file and administrative
                         reports.

This memorandum modifies the instructions given in Ground Water
Branch Memorandum 57.41, "WATER, GROUND (Reports) - Marking open-
file reports to show status."  Because of the possibility that the
phrases "Approved for publication as a water-supply paper," etc.,
might be included in bibliographic citations in Survey reports,
which was not intended, it has been decided not to include these
phrases on open-file copies.  The phrase "open-file report" should
still be shown, and other requirements given in Memorandum 57.41
also still apply.
