using U.S. Geological Survey 30 meter resolution Digital
Elevation Models, (DEM's).
This georeferenced image was created to provide a
hillshade image of San Gorgonio Pass and surrounding
area, Riverside County, California.

The original projetion for this dataset was Universal
Transverse Mercator (UTM), NAD27, Units meters, Zone
11, with a negative Y-shift of -3,500,000m. After further
processing the dataset was re-projected again in UTM,
NAD27, Units meters, Zone 11, with a corrected Y-shift
equal to zero.
The original projection parameters for the .tif image were
UTM, NAD27, Units meters, Zone 11, with a Y-shift of
-3,500,000m. ArcInfo command "imagegrid" converted the
.tif image into grid format and then re-projected to UTM,
NAD27, Units meters, Zone 11, with a negative Y-shift
equal to zero. The final processing step was to convert
the re-projected grid into a geographically referenced
image using ArcInfo command "gridimage" to .tif format.
