This data set contains land surface elevations on dry and wadeable portions of transects for the hydrographic surveys on the Missouri River below Gavins Point Dam near River Mile 761.4. This data provides land surface elevations of shallow-water, shore, and highbank for the Missouri River following construction of Emergent Sandbar Habitat.

<logic>Data were collected using Ashtech Z-Extreme real-time kinematic GPS receivers. A local base station was established using two nearby first order benchmarks. The antenna on the base unit was a Geodetic 4 REV A, model number 701975.01. Rove units were checked over a known control point. Antenna heights were measured to the nearest millimeter. GPS data was output using Carlson Software's SurvCE. Antenna height corrections were applied as necessary. Conversion to NGVD29 vertical datum was completed so that the data could be compared to existing COE benchmarks and gaging station data. The datum conversion was accomplished using the National Geodetic Survey's VERTCON program (http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/VERTCON/vert_con.prl). The datum shift of -0.189 meters was the program output for benchmark U450 (pid NM1968), one of the primaries used to establish local control.</logic>
