					<horizpae>Errors resulting from the quality of the source map, the automation process, and the scale resolution can impact the accuracy of the data.  The errors resulting from the quality of the source map are unknown.  The source map was a folded paper map in good condition.  The source map was allowed to flatten out before being digitized.  The root mean square (RMS) errors encountered during the automation process were no greater than 0.002.  The inherent error of a 1:1,000,000-scale map is approximately 508 meters according to the National Map Accuracy Standards of 1947.

The horizontal positional accuracy was verified by visual and manual comparison as described in the Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report and the Process_Steps and matches the positional accuracy of the original source map.  The horizontal positional error is deductively estimated at 550 meters.</horizpae>

The springs were digitized directly into the coordinate system with a maximum RMS = 0.002.

2. 1:1,000,000-scale hard copy plots of the digital data were generated.  Using a light table, these plots were visually and manually compared with the source.  Corrections were made to the spatial data until two visual and manual comparisons, combined with on-screen review, determined there was no light between the plot and the source data, and the attribute data matched the source data.</procdesc>
